100 Reasons to Mind Map – via @lucianop

Great list of ways to use mind maps. I used to really enjoy mind mapping, but I’ve got out of the habit as I tend to use a computer for notes these days, rather than a notebook. I’ve tried a couple of mind-mapping packages, but I’m not very impressed with either, and I can’t justify the cost of the good ones. Lots of the reasons here are ones that have always been important for me. e.g.

1. Explore a subject
15. Outline your writing
23. Take notes & create overviews
24. Develop your creative thinking
25. Plan presentations
26. Plan speeches

I was struck by ‘research your idols’. I’m sure this is meant in the loose sense, as in heroes. But with my passion for Old Testament prophecy, it took on a very different shade of meaning.

Some of these don’t seem very suited for mind mapping, at least to me. Why use a mind map to log car improvements? Seems to me a list is sometimes better. But this list does show the incredible potential usefulness of the technique.
